EFCC probes Osun college over capital project fund

Economic and Financial Crimes Commissions {EFCC} may have begun investigation into alleged misappropriation of N.3 billion, meant for the construction of some capital projects at the Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun.

The funds were allegedly mismanaged by some principal officers of the college, among is a part-time Governing Council Chairman, Oyeniyi Akande.

Others included former Acting Provost of the College, Dr Basiru Gbadamosi, Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council, Aderinola Adeoti, former College Bursar, now Bursar, College of Education, Ilesa, Akin Latilo and member of council David Olayinka Oloje, among others.

They are accused of fraudulent diversion of N.3billion public funds approved for the TETfund project for the construction of Amphil-theatre and other sundry projects for the growth and development of the college community since 2014

EFCC, in an invitation letter, dated May 13, 2016 and signed by its South West Zonal Head, Akaninyene Ezima, sent to the Chairman, Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State { CSCEOS], Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman, sought further clarification on the
group’s petition on the alleged financial scam.

The invitation letter entitled, “Investigation Activities:
Acknowledgement/Invitation Letter” which was made available to journalists yesterday asked the group to clarify some issues raise in their petition.

Sulaiman had earlier last week appeared before the commission in connection with petitions raised by his group.
