Founder of IBD Foundation and Managing Director of IBD Hotels, Omolara Egungbohun, has been named among the Top 50 Most Industrious Women in Africa.
Egungbohun was honoured alongside other exceptional African women making impactful contributions across sectors, including entrepreneurship, governance, technology, media, community development and the creative industry.
Organisers of the event, which was held at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos, said the award initiative aimed to celebrate individual accomplishments and stimulate a shift in societal attitudes toward women’s leadership.
Egungbohun was also honoured with the African Humanitarian Ambassador of the Year award for her contributions to hospitality and community development.
The organisers said the awards acknowledge her leadership and innovativeness in introducing new operational initiatives within her hotel chain and foundation.
Egungbohun, who was represented at the award ceremony, dedicated the honours to the people of Yewa land.
The foundation also announced plans for its annual end-of-year Thanksgiving concert, themed “United in Thanksgiving – Empowered by His Spirit,” to be held on December 21 in Ilaro.
It stated that the concert is open to residents of Yewa land and the general public, regardless of religious affiliation.
The event is part of the foundation’s yearly community outreach, which also targets the celebration of children and women in the area.
It will also feature musical performances by renowned gospel artistes, including Woli Arole and Elijah Daniel, alongside refreshments for attendees.
Ibrahim Dende Foundation, better known as IBD Foundation, is a non-profit organisation located in Ilaro, the capital of Yewa land.
However, the Foundation received a massive boost when Omolara Egungbohun, wife of the philanthropist businessman, Alhaji Ibrahim Egungbohun, who is closer to the grassroots and people really in need of help, took over the running of the charitable organisation.
Omolara, who is the face of the Foundation, has injected fresh energy into the activities of the IBD Foundation. She has also extended the philanthropic ventures of the Foundation to hundreds of thousands of people in Yewa land. IBD Foundation was incorporated in 2011. The Foundation is now officially the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of the IBD Group.
