The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Jigawa Command, has warned against underage driving in the state.

The command said it has deployed 345 personnel to provide road safety during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration in the state.

This is contained in a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Mr Ibrahim Gambo, on Wednesday in Dutse.

The corps pledged to collaborate with other security agencies and judiciary to prosecute under-age and reckless drivers.

It said that the FRSC Sector Commander in the state, Mr Ahmed Mohammed, directed the deployment of the personnel and logistic for patrol, surveillance and traffic control between April 20 and April 25.

“FRSC in Jigawa has deployed 345 Officers, Marshals, 45 Special Marshals, as well as eight patrol vehicles and three life supporting ambulances across the state,” it said.

The statement said appealled to all motorists to obey traffic rules and regulations during and beyond the festive period.
It explained that measures were part of the command’s effort to ensure free flow of traffic on all the roads across the state, as well ensure safety of lives and property.
