The Ekiti State All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have expressed disappointment over the sudden postponement of the general elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Chairman, Ekiti State Campaign Council of Atiku/Obi and immediate past Deputy Governor of the state, Prof. Olusola Kolapo Eleka, said though the party was disappointed, he was optimistic it will turn out good for his party. He urged Nigerians to remain resolute in their determination to unseat President Muhammad Buhari.

“They should not allow themselves to be intimidated or harassed, as we have seen some using government apparatus to harass our candidates for the House of Representatives in Ikere Ekiti and Igbara-Odo: our people have been detained and have not been released till now. Buhari has said nobody can unseat him, but God can unseat him. And it is time for him to leave,” he said.

The National Adviser (South West), Buhari/Osinbajo National Support Committee, Dr. Olusegun Osinkolu said it was disappointing INEC did not take the action few days to elections.

He said APC would only be appeased if the commission conducts free, fair and credible elections that would suit international best practices next Saturday.

He said it was traumatising to postpone the elections when all contending forces and voters had prepared for the task.
