Ekiti varsity confers honorary doctorate on Adelusi-Adeluyi

Ekiti State University has selected Nigeria’s leading pharmacist and former Minister for Health and Human Resources, Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi, for the conferment of honorary Doctorate of Law (Honoris Causa) during the forthcoming convocation ceremony of the university.

A letter, signed by the Registrar of the Ivory Tower, who is also the Secretary to the Governing Council, Ife Oluwole, said that the award would be conferred on Adelusi-Adeluyi during the forthcoming convocation ceremony of the university scheduled to hold on April 4, 2024, at the university’s auditorium.

It also stated that the award is in recognition of Adelusi-Adeluyi’s “contribution to the development of the university, Nigeria, and the international community.”

Adelusi-Adeluyi, a pharmacist and lawyer, is the founder and Chairman of Juli Pharmacy Plc., the first indigenous company to be quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).

He currently serves as Chairman of the MTN Foundation, which has invested over N21 billion in various initiatives in Nigeria’s 36 states and federal capital.

The pharmacist is an alumnus of the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, and a holder of the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR).
