Ekiti State University (EKSU) has commenced the process of appointing a substantive vice chancellor.

Briefing newsmen yesterday after the 133rd meeting of the governing council, the chairman and pro-chancellor, Prof. Bamitale Omole, disclosed that the university had appointed an accounting firm to carry out forensic audit of the accounts of the university.

He added that human resource auditors were also hired to audit the staff of the institution.

The decision to embark on forensic audit of the accounts followed approval of the white paper of the visitation panel by the state government, Omole said.

According to him, the audit was not targeted at any individual.

He, however, said that any infraction or underhand dealing discovered at the end of the exercise would attract sanction.
