El Rufai commission feed mill as Idris calls for reintroduction of produce board
Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai and the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris have respectively called on the Buhari administration to reestablish nationwide, the defunct produce marketing boards, to alleviate the problems of food production, as well as to stabilize and encourage farmers and other agricultural investors. This would encourage food production, arrest unemployment and commercialise farm products for export.
These remarks were made at the commissioning of the Sunseed Feed Mills, Oil Mills and the G.K. Chanrai Memorial Hospitals complex, along old Jos road, GRA, Zaria, Kaduna State.
Thanking the governor for his support, they mentioned some of their challenges to include irregular power supply and high interest rate on bank loans and the governor promised to look into these and provide solutions for them.
El-Rufai thanked the emirate, people of the state and the nation for encouraging investors and implored others to emulate the Kewalarams and Chanrai group.
The group Deputy Managing Director, Kewalram/Chanrai Ltd., Elder Victor Eburajolo assured Nigerians of a better, resourceful economic vibrant tomorrow, provided they kept alive hope. He called on those in authority to improve socio-economic infrastructures, which he described as the bane to the much expected growth and expansion to put Nigeria back where she belongs.
The over hundred years old group has interest in products including textiles, automobiles, agriculture, oil milling and so on. Sunseed Nigeria is one of the companies under the group, with various agricultural activities including multi seed crushing.
