El-Rufai raises minimum pension to N30,000
Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has raised minimum pension in the state from N3, 000 to N30, 000 monthly.
Special Adviser on Media and Communication to the governor, Muyiwa Adekeye, made this known in a statement yesterday.
He said the governor has received commendation from the Kaduna State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners (NUP), adding that the union’s commendation was contained in a letter signed by its Chairman, Alhaji Abdu Ramalan Kwarbai.
Muyiwa said the union noted that El-Rufai was the first governor to announce payment of minimum pension, saying, “This shows his (El-Rufai’s) concern for senior citizens of the state.
He added that the NUP said Governor El-Rufai’s decision to raise pension “shows the level of his concern for the aged and senior citizens of Kaduna State.”
