The prosecutor, Insp Racheal Williams told the court that the offences were committed at 8.00 p.m., on Jan. 17 at Azeez Alao Street, Ipaja, Lagos.

Williams told the court that the accused and one other, now at large, snatched an Infinix phone from one Latifat Adebayo at gun point.

“It was the complainant’s shout for help that attracted people passing, who ran after the hoodlums and the accused was apprehended, while his accomplice escaped,” she said.

Williams said that the offences contravened Sections 278 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs C.Y Balogun granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,00, with one surety in like sum.
