The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has urged Nigerians who desire to be elevated beyond limits to recognise the sovereignty of God as the “King of kings” whose power cannot be fathomed.
This came as the National Director of Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International ( Dr. Obi Onwuakpa,), Dr. Obi Onwuakpa, has urged Nigerians, especially leaders and professionals, to embrace godly values and integrity in governance and everyday life.
Adeboye gave the admonition during the church’s monthly thanksgiving service held with the theme, ‘King of kings’ which was attended by Governor Babajide Sanwoolu; his wife, Ibijoke and members of his cabinet at the RCCG headquarters, The Throne of Grace, Ebute-Metta, Lagos.
At the service, he prayed for leaders in the country across all cadres, giving thanks for Nigeria on the celebration of its 65th independence anniversary.
Adeboye described Nigerians as wonderful people for weathering the storm, but counselled that honouring God as an exceptional King would usher the nation into a new dispensation that will meet the expectation of every Nigerian.
He said: “When God elevates a person, no obstacle or opposition can stand in the way of that elevation. If human beings are the ones lifting you up, sooner or later their hands will grow weary, and they will bring you down. But when God is the one promoting you, there is no limit to your promotion because His hands are everlasting,” he said.
Speaking at a breakfast meeting held at FGBMFI’s VGC Chapter, Lagos, Onwuakpa charged participants to devote their time, resources, and talents to serving God and humanity.
He disclosed that he has spent 30 years as a born-again Christian and member for the fellowship.
“Humans were created for the purpose of serving God. Anything that is not useful to the Creator becomes useless and discarded,” he warned, stressing that religious leaders must boldly confront bad governance instead of paying lip service to political authority.
Onwuakpa, who recalled the biblical rebuke of King David by Prophet Nathan, said leaders should be held accountable while followers also take responsibility for doing the right thing in their personal and professional spaces.
He reiterated that FGBMFI provides a platform for prayer, worship, networking, and empowerment, where professionals, entrepreneurs, and workers across all sectors share knowledge and testimonies of God’s power at work.
Speaking at the meeting, the VGC Chapter President, Mr. Francis Ahaotu, explained that monthly sessions feature guest speakers who educate members on practical issues, combined with worship and prayer.
He urged the public to embrace the fellowship’s mission, citing Matthew 6:33: “Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all other blessings will follow.”
Elevate God and make progress, Adeboye, Onwuakpa urge Nigerians
