Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State has cautioned employers of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members against unproductive dealings, but to ensure professional engagement at all times.
Aliyu made the call, yesterday, in Wamakko Local Council, during the closing ceremony of the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream I orientation course for NYSC members posted to Sokoto and Zamfara states.
He encouraged the corps members to continue with the post-camp Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED), considering the nature of the country’s labour market.
The governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, said productive engagements would help them to be job creators, instead of job seekers.
He advised them to respect cultures, traditions and contribute positively towards the development of their host communities.
On his part, Governor Mohammed Bago of Niger State advised corps members to shun social vices and cybercrime.
Bago gave the advice at the closing of the 2023 Batch C, Stream 1 orientation course in Paiko Local Council of the state.
The governor, represented by the Head of Service, Abubakar Salisu, urged the corps members to be disciplined and avoid being lured into degrading acts capable of harming them.
He implored them to key into his administration’s ‘Green Economy and Sustainable Development’ project to raise the living standard of the people of the state.
GOVERNOR Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State urged the 2023 Batch C Stream I corps members posted to the state to leverage the training during the orientation exercise to positively impact their host communities.
Sule gave the charge at the closing ceremony of the orientation course held at the Magaji Dan Yamusa NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Keffi, yesterday.
Represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Ja’afaru Ango, the governor expressed delight with the conduct of the corps members during the three-week exercise.
He assured the corps members of the hospitality of the people and government of Nasarawa, urging them to feel free to relate as members of one big family.
Coordinator of NYSC in the state, Abdullahi Jikamshi, congratulated the 1,895 corps members for the successful completion of the orientation exercise.
Jikamshi revealed that there was no casualty recorded in any of the camp activities undertaken by the corps members and camp officials throughout the three-week exercise.
IN Gombe State, Governor Inuwa Yahaya assured corps members posted to the state that their welfare and security remained a top priority of his administration.
Yahaya gave the assurance, yesterday, while closing the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream I orientation exercise at the temporary orientation camp in Amada, Akko Local Council.
Represented by his Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Inuwa Ibrahim, the governor stated that corps members posted to the state had nothing to fear, as his administration would protect them during their stay in the state.
