The entertainment scene has been filled with a lot of controversies and backlash with fans and online users weighing in on the various dramas that have unfolded.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Nigerian celebrities, including Asake, Peller and Davido, have been making headlines and sparking controversy on social media.

One of the most talked-about controversies involves superstar singer Asake, who faced intense backlash after his father cried out for financial assistance.

According to reports, Asake’s father had suffered a stroke and was in need of medical attention, but claimed that his son had neglected him.

The father’s emotional plea for help sparked a heated debate on social media, with many fans and online users calling out Asake for allegedly abandoning his father in his time of need.

Some fans urged Asake to prioritise his father’s well-being and provide the necessary financial support, while others advised him to focus on his success and not let the past haunt him.

Asake, however, took to social media to address the situation, with a cryptic but emotional message.

Singing in Yoruba, Asake said, “You can’t please everyone, you can’t please the world. But anything you are doing, just do it for God.”

While some fans appreciated his response, others felt that it did not adequately address the concerns raised by his father’s plea.

Meanwhile, popular TikToker, Habeeb Hamzat, also known as Peller, faced criticism after throwing shade at Afrobeat singer, Runtown, during a recent TikTok live session.

Peller referred to Runtown as an “upcoming artiste”, sparking a massive reaction from fans who questioned whether Peller was trolling or genuinely unaware of Runtown’s status in the industry.

Runtown, who gained initial recognition with his 2016 hit song, “Mad Over You”, has had numerous hit songs throughout his career.

He is widely regarded as one of the biggest names in Afrobeats, and fans were quick to defend him against Peller’s perceived slight.

Pella later apologised for his comment, claiming that he had been unaware of Runtown’s status in the industry.

However, many fans felt that the apology came too late, and that Peller’s initial comment had already caused unnecessary drama.

In other news, megastar singer, Davido, is gearing up for the release of his fifth studio album, titled “5ive”.

To whet fans’ appetites, he has just dropped a new single titled “Still Be There”.

Yet, through it all, he says he remains committed to his craft and financial success.

Davido reassures his fans that no matter the ups and downs, he will always be present and thriving.

The song has already generated significant buzz online, with many fans praising Davido’s lyrical depth and musical versatility.

With “Still Be There” setting the tone for his upcoming album, fans are eagerly anticipating what Davido has in store for them next.
