ESIPO lauds council over investment initiative
Edo State Investment Promotion Office (ESIPO), Ease of Doing Business Secretariat, weekend, hailed Oredo Council boss, Tom Obaseki, who recently unveiled the investment facilitation desk, a first-of-its-kind initiative in the state.
Managing Director of ESIPO, Kelvin Uwaibi, said the initiative was a game-changer targeted at boosting investment in the council, while also fostering a business relationship with investors and businesses.
“The desk will act as a central point for businesses, addressing their concerns and enhancing collaboration in streamlining the investment process.
“This, in turn, is expected to attract more capital and create a thriving business environment within the Local Government Area.
“We are urging other local government areas (LGAs) to follow Oredo’s lead. This initiative aligns perfectly with the state’s goal of achieving widespread economic prosperity,” he said.
Obaseki said the council remained committed to providing leadership and essential services to its residents. He acknowledged the crucial role investment plays in development, surpassing what could be achieved solely through Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
“Oredo Business Support and Investment Facilitation Office signifies a shift towards attracting capital, creating a sustainable path for growth that goes beyond traditional IGR strategies. This innovative approach positions Oredo as a prime destination for businesses thereby attracting more resources,” Obaseki said.
