Etiaba harps on unity of Igbo to overcome challenges
The former governorship candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in Anambra State, Ben Etiaba, has canvassed for unity of purpose among Ndigbo to overcome their political and economic challenges.
Etiaba stated that Igbo should jettison cries and allegations of marginalisation and focus on issues that could bring about development of their economic potential.
He also said that politics in Nigeria has not developed because of a lack of ideology, saying that politicians should stick to principles, changing the way they play politics in the country.
Etiaba stated this in Enugu State at a dinner to mark the end of the 2024 yearly General Meeting and inauguration of new executive of the Zenith Environmental and Social Protection Network (Zespronet), a non-governmental organisation, saying that the Igbo can do better and cause the development of the region if they get focused and stop complaining.
He stressed that Igbo land is blessed with enormous human and mineral resources, adding that if combined with their ingenuity Igbo could transform their economy to the envy of other regions.
Etiaba, who was a guest speaker at the occasion, also warned Nigerians to learn to reject politicians who offer financial gratification during elections if the right leadership must be in place.
