Ex-CAS, Abubakar, optimistic of unseating Bauchi gov, hails judicial system

Former Chief of Air Staff (CAS) and governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State for the March 18, 2023 election, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar (rtd), has expressed confidence that the nation’s judicial system will declare him winner of the poll.
Abubakar, while speaking with journalists at Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi, yesterday, alleged that his mandate was stolen and would be restored by the court, based on the “facts” he presented before the election petition tribunal.
He said: “The Nigerian judicial system is very reliable and trustworthy. We are very confident that the judges would look at the facts we have presented. I am sure that at the end of the day, we would come out victorious, by the grace of God.”
Thanking the people and his supporters for their prayers and goodwill, the former air chief assured that he would make good all his promises during electioneering when declared winner by the court.
With the 432,272 votes declared in his favour, Abubakar came second behind Governor Bala Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 525,280 votes.
APC has petitioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Election Petition Tribunal over alleged over-voting, violence and mass cancellation of votes at different polling units.
