Falae urges new governor to form inclusive government
National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Olu Falae, has tasked the eventual winner in the Ondo governorship election to form an inclusive government, and quickly tackle the sundry problems besetting the state, especially the huge challenge of salary arrears owed by the outgoing administration.
Addressing newsmen, yesterday, after voting at Ago Ireti polling unit in Akure, the former minister said whoever emerged winner in the election should consider a consensus template, and bring the other people on board to move the state forward.
He said the problems in Ondo State were monumental and require that all hands be on deck to enable the people come out of their present predicament.
“If you cannot meet recurrent expenditure, how can you have money for development,” he queried. “Look at Akure, the state capital. When you go through Oba Adesida Road in the night, it is beautiful, but that is the end of the matter. The cross roads are not tarred; there is no modern sewage system in place and no running water. I have not had water in the last 30 years. So, we have a very long way to go. We need everybody’s wisdom to tackle the problem on the ground.
