The family of a Jalingo-based comedian, Samuel Awal, a.k.a Big Shark, who was allegedly murdered in a hotel room in Jalingo, capital of Taraba State on December 8, has rejected his body.

The comedian, who was among the organizers of the ongoing peace concert in the state, was mysteriously murdered in his hotel room after returning from one of the event at the Jolly Nyame stadium following a serious disagreement over about N250 million said to have been released by the state government for the event.

A source told The Guardian that the family decided to reject the corpse because there has been no clear explanation leading to his death from officials of the state government

According to the source, the family received the comedian’s death with rude shock, as there was no case of illness before his body was found lifeless on the said date after returning from an event.

He disclosed that the family will not claim the copse until the state government gives clear explanation of what led to the death of their son whom they suspect was gruesomely murdered.
