Fashola gives marching order on Lokoja-Benin highway project
The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has ordered the contractor handling the palliative job on the Lokoja-Benin highway, Dantata and Sawoe, to hasten up the project for motorists plying the route to enjoy the festive seasons.
During the inspection of the Okene and Obajana junction, Ekpoma axes of the road in Kogi and Edo yesterday, Fashola pledged that the President Muhammadu Buhari administration was committed to the completion of the project, awarded in 2012, owing to its importance to the people and economies of the two states.
Represented by the Director, Road Design, Oluropo Oyetade, the minister stated that lack of budgetary allocations was responsible for the delay.Responding on behalf of the construction firm, Surveyor Bashir Atanda said the project’s completion date is June 2020.
