FG meets with health workers, urges restraint over pay
The Federal Government yesterday craved the understanding of health workers regarding their pay demand, as the country battles the challenges posed by the Coronavirus outbreak to the economy.
President Muhammadu Buhari, who made the appeal during a meeting with the workers under the auspices of Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU) and Assembly Healthcare Professionals Associations (AHPA), who were on a courtesy visit to the State House, Abuja, assured them that his administration was looking into their issues for amicable resolution.
“Your case is certainly receiving attention, but you must bear in mind the condition that the country is in now. Coronavirus is not improving matters. It is affecting what we very much depend on – the petroleum industry – and therefore revenue,” he pleaded.
