FG okays social security payment to vulnerable families, graduates

The Federal Executive Council (FEC), presided over by President Bola Tinubu, yesterday, approved immediate social security payment to vulnerable households with National Identity Numbers (NINs) and Bank Verification Numbers (BVNs).

It ordered that the payment should be extended to Nigerian Certificate of Education (NCE) graduates and holders of higher degrees.

The meeting also sanctioned the construction of Lagos-Port Harcourt-Calabar Coastal Superhighway by Messrs Hitech Construction Africa,

A statement by Special Adviser, Information and Strategy to the President, Bayo Onanuga, added that consumer credit is to be established urgently.

The Chief of Staff to the President is leading a committee that includes the Minister of Budget, Attorney-General of the Federation, as well as the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Finance, to make the scheme a reality.
