FG sets 2027 target for one million vehicles to run on CNG
The Federal Government has set 2027 as the year when at least one million vehicles in Nigeria will run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
The Project Director for Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI), Michael Oluwagbemi disclosed that this is the target set by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to Oluwagbemi, the target will see a collaboration between the Federal Government and the Nigerian Army.
Oluwagbemi made this disclosure while addressing newsmen at the kickoff of the Nigerian Fleet Auto Switch at Bonny Island in Lagos State.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has outlined a template for transitioning the transportation sector from Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) or Petrol and diesel to CNG,” he added.
The project director for PCNGI also said that the framework was comprehensive and necessary for Nigeria’s full transition.
