FG to support Edo technology-based initiatives
The Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, yesterday, pledged support for science and technology-based initiatives of the Edo State Government.
Speaking at the†15th meeting of the National Council of Science and Technology in Benin City, the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, commended the Edo government for implementing the resolutions of the 14th†meeting of the Council, stressing that science and technology hold the key to developing the country beyond crude oil.
In his remarks, the governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, represented†by the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Emmanuel Agbale, highlighted his administrationís adoption of ICT-based reforms in the state civil service and revenue collection, saying Edo was committed to data-driven governance.
Obaseki said a strong partnership with the Federal Government would lead to better result from the stateís initiatives in the educational, agricultural and other sectors.
