FG, Zeenab foods launch Nigeria Export Trade house in China

The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) in partnership with Zeenab Foods have launched the first Nigeria Export Trade House in China in an effort to boost the visibility of Nigerian non-oil products and foreign exchange earnings, under the Export Expansion Facility Programme [EEFP].

The Executive Director NEPC, Dr Ezra Yakusak, while speaking at the launch of the warehouse in yesterday in China state stated that the launch of the Nigerian Trade House today signifies the need for aggressive marketing to increase productivity, enhance expansion and facilitate economic growth through non-oil export for the Nigerian Economy.

He added that the initiative is “also a way of addressing the ever-increasing challenge of dwindling revenue from oil as the world is fast moving away from oil to renewable energy..

He said: “The launch of the Export trade house in Changsha, Hunan province of China, will compliment the effort of our missions as a veritable means of increasing the export of Nigeria’s Non-Oil products. It is therefore a very welcome development. 2. It is by no means a coincidence that Changsha, in Hunan province of China, is selected for the launch of the Nigerian Export 7 House. This is because China as an important bilateral partner.”

The Chairman of Zeenab Foods, Mr Victor Ayemere, stated that the commissioning of the Nigerian Export Trade House by Zeenab Foods Limited in China marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s efforts to expand its export market and strengthen its trade relationship with China.

He noted that the program of activities highlights the immense potential for Nigerian businesses to tap into the Chinese market and increase their export revenue as they continues to explore new trade opportunities around the world saying the development serves as a positive step towards realizing the country’s economic growth and development goals.

Ayemere said: “Trade brings people together regardless of their geographic locations and when people come together, they are more likely to form relationships, build understanding and trust,”

He commended the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Nigerian Export Promotion Council for entrusting Zeenab Foods with the setup and operation of the Nigerian Export Trade House China/Far east Region adding that the initiative from the Nigerian government coupled with the acceptance and support from the Chinese government registers among the long list of positive developments in the bilateral relations between both countries.

He highlighted the opportunities presented by this development include increased visibility and accessibility of made-in-Nigeria goods comprising agro-commodities and value-added finished products here in China, increased foreign trade dealings and earnings between both countries and a better balance of trade.

The CEO of Zeenab Foods however solicited for expansion of the protocol list of products for Nigeria with China to include other non-oil exportable products from our rich base of products in Nigeria such as Cassia Tora seeds, Soya beans, Peanuts, Sheer butter, Chilli
pepper, and Coconuts among others.
