The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) has successfully extinguished a factory fire that broke out on Tuesday night at Imperio International, located at 6 Ayodele Diyan Street, off Ladipo Oluwole Street, Ikeja, Lagos.
The blaze caused significant damage to goods, including body sprays, perfumes, and creams, and partially affected a twin warehouse block. However, the prompt response from LSFRS officials prevented the fire from spreading to a nearby production facility.
According to the Director of LSFRS, Margaret Adeseye, the cause of the fire is still under investigation, with no casualties reported. She praised the collaborative efforts of private sector safety teams, including Godrej Safety Department, Mouka Foam, and Nigerchin, who supported the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS), and the Nigeria Police in controlling the blaze.
Adeseye noted that the incident showcased the strength of public-private partnerships in handling emergencies effectively.
