Fire guts Shekarau’s house in Kano
Property worth millions of naira was destroyed on Sunday as fire gutted the Mundubawa Kano residence of former Kano governor Ibrahim Shekarau in Kano.
Spokesman of Kano Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, who confirmed the inferno disclosed that the incident occurred late Sunday evening.
Abdullahi said men of the service who were promptly alerted were able to put off the fire as the cause of the fire incident is still unknown.
Shekarau’s media aide, Dr Sule Ya’u Sule, said that the fire started from the inner kitchen of the house which was on the ground floor of the multi-million naira mansion.
He said, “We thank God the fire only affected one of Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau’s living rooms and already men of the State Fire Service had successfully put off the fire.”
The Mansion built by the Kano State Government in 2011 as part of the statutory benefits of the former governor was first gutted by fire on a day that fell in 2018.
