Concerned by the plight of teachers globally, the Orange Card Project has pledged to enhance the standard of living of teachers, to make the profession more attractive.

Head of Partnership and Collaboration of the project, Yinka Shodiya, who disclosed this during a meeting in Lagos, said the organisation is set to transform the fortune of the teachers with the aid of the Orange Debit card.

He said the Debit card will serve as a means for teachers to shop for essential commodities on the project website without difficulty, adding that this will reduce the struggles teachers face globally due to insufficient funds.

“The Orange card project is a value given venture to the teachers which is aimed at upgrading the standard of living for teachers. Teaching is the grossly undervalued profession globally.

“Since teachers play a vital role among the various sectors, they deserve to live well despite their earnings, which in most cases aren’t sufficient. The orange Debit card is mainly for teachers, to help them acquire their essential needs on our website without hassles.”

He added that the initiative will create a major market opportunity for brands, partnering the project to market their products on the platform, adding that it will also create access to grants, training of teachers, empowerment and special discount on products.
