President of Fix Nigeria Group, Tunde Eso, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to lessen the hardship caused by the removal of subsidy on petroleum products.
Eso said this at the group’s State Coordinators meeting held recently in Lagos.
The political activist noted that the recent economic policies of the Federal Government have brought devastating effects on the citizens, as prices of goods and services have witnessed astronomical increase, thereby drastically reducing the standard of living.
Eso urged the Federal Government to issue licenses to foreign and local investors to build new refineries and restructure the energy sector, saying this would create new jobs and alleviate poverty in the country.
Advising the government to diversify the economy, he noted that agriculture is the best sector that can directly touch and create a positive impact on the lives of rural people.
The Osun State Coordinator of the group, Comrade Kayode Olalere, urged state governors to create a new policy for free education, youth inclusion in governance and equitable representation of all groups in the country.
Kebbi State Coordinator, Comrade Datti Sani, said the group was working towards ensuring good governance, youth inclusion and strong advocacy for democracy and ‘youthocracy.’
He urged President Tinubu to include youths in governance as a way to integrate them into the new ideology that would elicit industrialisation, create employment and alleviate insecurity in the country.
Kogi State Coordinator of the group, Idegu Ojonugwa Shadrach, enjoined the president to avoid the mistakes of past administrations by running a transparent government that would reduce corruption in all sectors of the economy.
