THE first season of Game On, the Malta Guinness-powered reality series, came to an end recently. At the grand finale held to determine, which passion best fuels the rise of Naija brand, Team Football emerged victorious, with 52 per cent of the votes, defeating Team Fashion, which had 48 per cent of votes by Nigerians on Facebook and by SMS across the nation.

The night was full of activities, from a football-inspired dance rendition, to a runway show showcasing elegant designs. This also ushered a mind-blowing performance by delectable R&B songstress, Niyola. Alobam crooner, Phyno also performed, with the entire audience rising to their feet, singing and dancing along and breaking into applause for the rapper after his performance.

The show kicked off with an opening round of jokes and banter by popular humour merchants, Owen Gee and Lepacious Bose who kept the audience entertained before the host for the night, another popular comedian, Gordons arrived.

After a one-minute debate by both team captains, Lanre Da Silva Ajayi and Daniel Amokachi, on the superiority of their individual passions, there was a recap of memories of the contestants in the house and on tasks.

The four evictees were brought on stage again, wishing the finalists luck in their future endeavours and thanking Malta Guinness for the opportunity.

Eventually, Olumide Ajibolade was declared final winner. Ajibolade, who by virtue of his win will embark on a trip to England for a series of trainings and coaching classes, was also presented with a cheque for the sum of N2 million by Uche Onwudiwe, the Marketing Manager of Malta Guinness.

In Olumide’s words, “I don’t know what to say. This is unbelievable and I can’t explain the feeling I’m feeling now. I’m even happier because my colleagues now have their own opportunities too.”

A number of celebrities were present including, Taribo West, Waje, Omawumi, Joseph Benjamin, Adams Ibrahim and Noble Igwe. Behind the wheels of steel and spinning good music, was DJ Xclusive, who kept the audience on their feet after the presentation of the cheque.
