Former DG Budget Office, Bode Agusto, passes on
Bode Agusto
The death has occurred of former Director General (DG) of the Budget Office of Nigeria, Bode Agusto.
Agusto, who died yesterday, was DG Budget Office and Special Advisor to the President on Budget Matters between 2003 and 2007.
He has a degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos, an Executive Certificate in Strategy and Innovation from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, United States, Sloan School of Management and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
Agusto was the founding Managing Director of Agusto & Co., the foremost Pan African Credit Rating Agency and a leading provider of industry research.
He worked at PwC for 10 years and was admitted as a Partner of the same institution in 1991. He also worked at Nigeria International Bank (now Citibank Nigeria), where he served as Assistant Vice President and as Head of the World Corporations Group.
In 2003, President Olusegun Obasanjo awarded Agusto, the national honour of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic for his contributions to the Nigerian Economy and was subsequently appointed by President Obasanjo as the DG and Special Advisor to the President on Budget Matters.
