Forum hails NANS immediate past leadership

The Forum of Zonal Coordinators of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), representing the North Central, North East, North West, South East, South-South, and South West zones, has passed a vote of confidence in the immediate past leadership of NANS, led by Comrade Lucky Emonefe, former President, and Senator Akinteye Babatunde, former Senate President.
The forum commended their leadership for its significant contributions to the progress and development of Nigerian students, recognizing their tireless efforts, vision, and dedication to student welfare across the country.
The Chairman Zonal Coordinators of the Forum, Daniel Friday Egga, disclosed this in Abuja, during a press briefing, affirming their unwavering commitment to pursuing a brighter future for Nigerian students.
He said: “As the immediate past leadership moves on to new endeavors, we extend our sincere wishes for their continued success in all their future undertakings.
“At the same time, we congratulate the newly elected National Executive of NANS, led by Comrade Olushola Oladoha, President and Senator Adamu Don Manu, Senate President.
“We trust that their leadership will build on the achievements of the past and further enhance the welfare of Nigerian students. We are confident that their administration will continue to advocate for students’ rights and promote unity within the student body.
“We, the Zonal Coordinators, reaffirm our commitment to working closely with the new NANS National leadership. We are fully dedicated to ensuring the continued progress of the student body, advocating for the rights and welfare of students, and fostering unity across all the zones.
“Together, with the leadership of NANS National, we remain resolute in our pursuit of a brighter future for Nigerian students.
“We also take this opportunity to express our heartfelt appreciation to the Federal Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for its continued support of students and education.”
In a joint statement, NANS Zonal Coordinators, including Sadi Garba Said (Zone A – North West), Michael Emmanuel (Zone B – South South), Taiwo Owolewa (Zone D – South West), Umar D. Afkawa (Zone E – North East), and Ebube Ijeomah Charles (Zone F – South East), extended their gratitude to Hon. Seyi Tinubu for his unwavering dedication to youth empowerment and student welfare.
They said: “Furthermore, we thank the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students Engagement, Hon. Sunday Asefon, for his exceptional efforts in engaging with and addressing the concerns of Nigerian students at the highest level.”
The forum reaffirmed its dedication to working collaboratively with the new NANS leadership to advance student rights, welfare, and unity across all zones.
