The Patriotic and Social Care Foundation (PSCF) has marked the 30th anniversary of its members’ graduation with an educational outreach programme at their alma mater in Lagos, reaffirming its commitment to community development and academic advancement.
The initiative, which formed a key part of the foundation’s anniversary activities, focused on providing practical learning support to senior secondary school students, while also celebrating excellence and hard work.
PSCF, whose members are based across Nigeria and the diaspora—including Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States—leveraged the milestone to give back to the institution that played a formative role in their lives.
Through structured alumni engagement, the foundation aims to promote sustainable educational development and inspire younger generations to pursue academic and personal excellence.
As part of the outreach, PSCF distributed high-quality school bags and mathematical sets to senior secondary students.
The materials were selected to enhance classroom preparedness and support students’ daily academic activities.
In addition, the foundation introduced a merit-based recognition segment, rewarding outstanding SS2 students with special awards and academic support packages in recognition of their exceptional performance.
Leaders of the foundation explained that the initiative was designed to go beyond material assistance by motivating students to aim higher and remain focused on their educational goals.
They described the programme as a reflection of PSCF’s guiding philosophy of “Practical Excellence,” which emphasises purposeful action, measurable impact, and timely intervention in addressing community needs.
The PSCF delegation was led by its executive officers, including President Olatunbosun Adeboye, Secretary Mojisola Sesan-Aina, Financial Secretary Oniyide Bose, and Board of Trustees and Social Secretaries Adewale Kayode and Oiza Raji Yusuff.
During the visit, the team interacted with school administrators and students, offering words of encouragement and highlighting the importance of discipline, consistency, and long-term planning as foundations for success.
Receiving the alumni group, the school’s principal, Mr. Obafemi Oladunni, expressed appreciation for the foundation’s continued connection with the institution decades after graduation.
He said the return of former students to invest in the academic growth of current learners sends a strong message about responsibility, gratitude, and legacy.
According to him, alumni involvement is critical to strengthening educational institutions, especially when it goes beyond ceremonial visits to include tangible contributions that directly impact students’ learning experiences.
He added that the global exposure of PSCF members has enriched their engagement, while their sustained commitment to their roots remains evident and commendable.
Speaking at the event, PSCF President Olatunbosun Adeboye described the outreach as the beginning of a broader programme of activities planned by the foundation.
He revealed that PSCF is developing a long-term strategy focused on youth development, educational support, and social responsibility initiatives, aimed at nurturing confident, educated, and socially conscious young people.
School officials described the programme as seamless and impactful, expressing willingness to build a long-term partnership with PSCF.
Observers say the initiative reflects a growing trend of alumni networks playing more active roles in education and community-focused interventions, offering a model of purposeful giving and sustainable impact.
