A charity organisation in Gombe State, the Velocity Humanitarian Foundation, has saved Shuaibu Ali, a young man whose worsening fracture condition had been widely reported in the state, from becoming permanently lame.
Shuaibu, who hails from Jauro Kuna community in Gombe, suffered a severe leg fracture which failed to heal with traditional herbalists ‘ treatment while struggling to earn a living.
After months of inadequate treatment at home, Shuaibu’s condition deteriorated, making him cry out for help to avoid amputation or loss of his leg.
He said he is a low-income earner who hustles to survive and fears that if he loses his leg, he will not be able to support himself, as his parents are also less privileged.
However, the foundation provided him with succour recently by sponsoring his surgery at the hospital.
The founder of the foundation, Engineer Aliyu Kombat, represented by the foundation’s officials, expressed happiness that the operation had been successful.
Speaking to newsmen, the fracture patient, Shuaibu Ali, thanked the foundation for coming to his aid.
