They were honoured weekend at Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, with a meritorious award of excellence in recognition of selfless services to community development and strong community values of honesty and public integrity.
The state police spokesman said it was a great privilege and honour to be one of the awardees, saying: “It’s not because I am the best but I think it’s a way of showing that the little I am doing as my contribution is being seen and recognized.”
Bright Edafe described the award as “a step forward and it gives us the needed drive to do more and also affect our environment and people around us.”
Excited Edafe advised his colleagues: “You should know we are not lords over the citizens; instead, we are servants and that is why some call us civil or public servants. So, we should stop seeing ourselves as lords over the people we are policing. We are supposed to serve them.“
