Foundation marks World Humanitarian Day in Niger with medical outreach 

Esteemed Hub Foundation, in collaboration with health care providers, has taken medical outreach to communities in hard-to-access areas, and attended to all their basic healthcare needs, especially for women and children in Karimajiji, Lugbe, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
  
Executive Director of the foundation, Doo Agbadu, during a press briefing, explained that the World Humanitarian Day is a campaign by the United Nations to bring together partners from across the humanitarian system to advocate the survival, well-being and dignity of people affected by crises and for the safety and security of aid workers.
  
According to her, the organisation plans to celebrate this year’s edition by carrying out the project in its strategic plan for 2023 tagged ‘Health for she (H4s)’ free medical outreach for physically challenged people in Karimajiji community.

Over 300 people benefited from the free medicals, comprising the aged, people with physical disabilities, their spouses and children as well as the vulnerable, the process said.
  
She added that Esteemed Hub Foundation partnered Medplus and Hypo to raise awareness about cleanliness and disease prevention, as well as free health checks for malaria, high blood pressure, hepatitis B, and Body Mass Index (BMI). 
  
Apart from free medical services, she noted, other people with more serious conditions were referred to health care facilities closer to them, pointing out that clothes and food items were also distributed to women and children.
  
Doo lauded Medplus and Greenway International, Hypo, Colgate and Power Oil for their support to the foundation. She stated that fruit trees were planted on the school grounds in the community by the representatives of Greenway. 
 
 The Executive Director advised the community to nurture and care for the trees.
