Teachers in Nigeria may not have to wait to receive their rewards in heaven, as Meadow Hall Foundation has started rewarding them here on earth. They were rewarded along with three outstanding leaders for being sources of inspiration to students.

Over N5 million was doled out at the third edition of Inspirational Educator Awards (INSEA) and Education Convention held at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, with the theme ‘Accelerating National Development through Education’.

It was part of the foundation’s continuous drive towards motivating and promoting teachers’ efficiency in Nigeria.

In the Inspirational School Leader Award category, Mrs. Adebola Akinbami and Mrs. Charity Tony-Ubah emerged star price winners and were rewarded with the sum of N1.25 million each, followed by Mr. Ayofe Tajudeen who got N500,000.

But in the Inspirational Teacher Award category, Mr. Soji Megbowon and Mr. Abolaji Lanre got N850,000 each as star price winners, followed by Mr. Michael Olusegun who got N500,000.

Head of Meadow Hall Foundation, Mr. Omotola Oni, revealed that in selecting the winners, nominees filled out a comprehensive form, detailing their qualifications, experience, inspirational stories and personal initiatives carried out that stands them apart. The shortlisted candidates were invited for interview with carefully selected judges across various industries to determine the winners.

CEO/founder of Meadow Hall, Mrs. Kehinde Nwani, described INSEA as a merit-based annual award aimed at elevating the teaching profession and motivating teachers and school leaders to strive for excellence in their profession.
