Four out of the five trapped construction workers in a collapsed two–storey building that gave way at Glover Court Ikoyi, Lagos were rescued yesterday evening. The construction site, which houses a total of four different 2-storey buildings, were all under construction before the collapse yesterday.

In quick reaction to the incident, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) activated the state’s emergency response plan to excavate the site in order to save the remaining trapped victim from the building that collapsed yesterday at about 4.10pm.

Of the five people trapped in the building at the time of collapse, the only construction worker reportedly still trapped under rubbles is 24 year old Yomi, as all others have been accounted for.

Lagosians within vicinity of the incident have been enjoined to stay calm and allow emergency responders do their job.
