Daniel Edah better known as Deo is a Ghanaian movie producer, actor and Entrepreneur from Delta State, Nigeria. He is one of Ghana’s young producers going through all odds to survive in a clearly ‘struggling Ghanian movie industry. Born in FESTAC Town, Lagos he moved to Ghana in 2011 for studies at Intercom Programming & Manufacturing Co (IMPC) College of Technology. He graduated in 2013 with a diploma in networking.

Shortly thereafter, He dabbled into movies and produced his first movie ‘Son Of Yahweh’ same year. Though not a commercial success it was his first forage into the movie industry. His major break in Ghana cinema came in 2015 with “In April” which featured some frontline Ghanian actors like Yvonne Nelson, Bismark the Joke, Regina Van-Helvert and Eddie Nartey. The movie was later picked up by Iroko TV.

He built on the success of IN APRIL and followed up with 2 movies in 2016 SWINGS – featuring Chris Attoh and Yvonne Nelson and ROSEMARY – which featured a mix of NIgeria and Ghanian actors like Amaechi Muonagor, Beverly Osu, Umar Krupp and Bismark the Joke.

He continued with “Before My Wedding in 2017 starring Jackie Appiah and Mike Ezeronye. He went on to release ‘The Groom Price’ in – 2018 with Charles Inojie, Adunni Ade, Eddie Watson, Regina Van-Helvert, Toosweet Annan and ‘SINGING SIN’ with Kunle Remi, Belinda Effah, Emem Ufot in 2019.

It has been a steady though not too smooth rise to the top for Deo. He is currently casting for his next project, a series titled Questions which he plans to shoot on location in the US where he is presently stuck due to the covid pandemic restrictions. A pilot for the TV series has already been shot and is featured on Forbes 8.

Daniel says he hopes to one day build and own his own world class studios like his mentor Tyler Perry who he look up to. That way he can provide jobs and also empower the up and coming generation of African film makers and actors.
