FRSC begins clearing of roads in Imo
WORRIED at the huge number of road accidents due to obstructions in Imo State, the Federal Roads Safety Commission (FRSC) Sector Commander, Dr. Godwin Omiko, has directed his men to remove them and ensure free flow of traffic.
The exercise has taken off on the Owerri-Onitsha Road. In a statement on Wednesday, the Sector Public Education Officer, Monday Okoro, warned that the command warned not take it kindly with anyone caught obstructing the roads.
“As he (Omiko) supervised the exercise, he noted painfully that these obstructions (road dividers) have cut short the lives of bread-winners of most families and the most virile of Nigeria’s labour force,” the statement added.
He further called on communities and those resident along the roads to always play safe and also protect the roads in their various communities, “as government property is everybody’s property.”
