The Giddi Group Foundation, a Nigerian-based non-profit organisation focused on youth development, education, and global community initiatives, has issued a formal public retraction and apology to Deutsche Bank AG over misleading references made in a recent press release.
In a statement released by its Legal Department, the foundation acknowledged that a previous publication—distributed via platforms such as Yahoo Finance and ACCESS Newswire—had erroneously implied a formal partnership or affiliation between Deutsche Bank AG, Billion Sow Holdings Limited, and the Giddi Group Foundation.
The foundation confirmed that the implication of Deutsche Bank’s endorsement or involvement was inaccurate and unintentional, attributing the error to a misinterpretation by third-party intermediaries linked with Billion Sow Holdings Limited. It clarified that Deutsche Bank AG had no knowledge of, nor had it authorised, any such claims.
“We hereby formally retract any and all statements or implications made in publications or communications… that indicate or suggest Deutsche Bank AG’s affiliation with or endorsement of Giddi Group Foundation or Billion Sow Holdings Limited,” the statement read.
Giddi Group Foundation expressed regret over any confusion or reputational harm the miscommunication may have caused to Deutsche Bank, its partners, or the public. It reiterated that the error was made without malice and assured that all related publications were either being withdrawn or had already been taken down.
“Our core mission remains rooted in authentic impact, transparency, and social innovation… We are committed to the highest standards of ethical communication and public integrity,” the foundation stated.
The apology concludes with a reaffirmation of Giddi Group Foundation’s dedication to lawful conduct and its ongoing work to support education, technology, and youth empowerment across Africa and beyond.
