Food delivery company, Glovo said it will shut down operations in Ghana from May 10.
Glovo disclosed this to its restaurant partners via email following the company’s decision to leave Ghana two years after investing $3.7 million to expand its operations.
The food delivery platform said it has had problems making a profit in the Ghanaian market.

It said it will focus on other African markets such as Morocco, Uganda, Kenya, Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria.
“While we recognise the potential of the Ghana market, building a stronger position in the market and achieving profitability would require substantial investment over an extended period of time,” the company said.
“This is why we have decided to redirect our resources towards the other 23 countries where we operate.
