... Vows one million votes for Tinubu
The Grassroots Movement for Tinubu (GMT) has unveiled a fresh phase of its medical outreach programme across Ondo State, targeting thousands of residents with free healthcare services.
The group also rolled out a market empowerment scheme designed to boost small-scale traders ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The political advocacy group, which is galvanising support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, stated this during a stakeholders’ meeting at its state secretariat in Akure.
The medical outreach, branded as the Jingi Asiwaju programme, will cover five local government areas, while the E-lo-So-Loja market outreach and empowerment programme is scheduled to hold across six local government areas, where market women will receive direct support to strengthen and expand their business operations.
The group described the two initiatives as part of its commitment to improving the welfare of Ondo residents irrespective of their political affiliations.
Addressing party stakeholders at the gathering, the Director-General of GMT in the state, Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, stated that the programmes were designed not only to deliver medical assistance and economic support but also to sensitise the people of the state to the imperative of re-electing President Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
According to him, the president’s performance across key sectors justifies a second term, stressing that the state will deliver one million votes for Tinubu in 2027.
The GMT Director-General hailed the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, over what he described as several strategic initiatives aimed at consolidating the All Progressives Congress (APC) base in the state.
“The Minister of Interior has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the party’s growth in Ondo State, and we are confident that his efforts will yield significant dividends in the 2027 elections,” Ogunleye said.
He also commended the administration of President Tinubu for its strides in promoting national unity, driving socio-economic transformation, enhancing security architecture, and advancing infrastructure development across the country.
Speaking on the outcome of the APC’s recently concluded National Assembly primaries, the GMT State Secretary, Rasheed Badmus, and the State Director of Women Affairs, Olamide Falana, praised Tunji-Ojo and the party’s national chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, for ensuring what they termed a transparent and credible process.
They maintained that all candidates who secured the party’s tickets for the National Assembly elections deserved their victories, stressing that they emerged through a transparent, free and decisive primary process.
