Gombe gov signs 2023 budget into law
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya has signed the state’s N176 billion Appropriation Bill for 2023 into law.
appended his signature yesterday at the Government House Executive Chamber.
At the ceremony, Governor Yahaya appreciated the symbiotic relationship between the executive and the legislative, which he said helped in many completed and ongoing developmental projects.
“I thank the Assembly from the bottom of my heart because the cooperation and understanding have been wonderful. Unless we work together, we shall not take our people to the intended destination. I thank God you gave me all the support,” he added.
He, however, promised 99 per cent achievement of the 2023 budget, saying, “It is only when all of us are ready to move together that the state can progress. May God see us through.”
Meanwhile, the Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Baba Manu noted that in the last four years, each budget had always achieved 70 per cent project completion.
He urged the governor to approve many more proposals lying on his table unattended.
