The Gombe State Youth Parliament has elected new leadership, with Aliyu Danladi emerging as the Speaker of the third parliament.
Danladi, nominated by Auwal Umar from Akko West and seconded by Ahmed Isiyaku from Funakaye South, will lead the parliament alongside Deputy Speaker Liatu Asaph Lewi.
In his inaugural speech, Speaker Danladi promised to promote youth inclusiveness in governance, empower young people through skills development, and combat drug abuse among them.
He expressed gratitude to the Gombe State governor for his youth-friendly initiatives and support for the youth parliament.
The speaker also thanked the speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly for recognising the youth parliament, noting that this acknowledgement will foster greater participation and engagement.
The Gombe State House of Assembly organised the election in collaboration with the state Ministry of Youth Development.
