Gov. Umar Namadi of Jigawa has pledged to continue to initiate policies that will enhance the development of agriculture, education, health and job creation.
He said in his New Year message that in 2024 his administration would build on the foundation of progress laid in 2023.
The governor added that his 12-point agenda, focusing on education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, and job creation, would continue to guide the state’s development trajectory.
“Infrastructure development remains a cornerstone of the agenda, with accelerated efforts planned to improve road networks, rural electrification and water resources to create an environment conducive to business growth.
“Job creation is a top priority, with the administration exploring partnerships with the private sector to stimulate economic activities and provide employment opportunities for the youth,’’ he said.
The governor acknowledged the potential within the young population and expressed commitment to harnessing their talents for development.
He stressed the importance of education as the bedrock of a prosperous society and promised that his administration would double efforts at providing accessible and affordable healthcare services.

He expressed immense pride in the strength of the collective spirit demonstrated by the citizens in spite of socio-economic challenges encountered in the past year.
“In the agricultural sector, more innovative initiatives are set to be implemented to boost productivity, empower farmers and ensure food security,’’ the governor said.
Namadi called for unity among citizens of the state and urged them to work together to overcome challenges and build a brighter future.
