Governor Namadi ordered prompt relief assistance to rainstorms victim’s of Dutse- Kiyawa

The Jigawa state Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, through its agency, the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), to immediately deploy emergency relief assistance to the hundred’s Community affected by last week rainstorm in both Metropolitan Dutse and Kiyawa LGA’S in Jigawa state.

This was part of the State’s Executive Council resolutions presented to Media men in Dutse by the Commissioner For Information Home Affair’s Youths and Sport’s, Hon Sagir Musa shortly after the Council’s meeting Chaired by Governor Umar Namadi Danmodi.

SEMA was mandated to mobilize relief materials and other essential support to provide immediate succour to victims and help ease the impact of the disaster.

The Council emphasized that the swift intervention underscores the administration’s resolve to respond promptly to emergencies and safeguard the welfare of citizens.

According to Sagir, the Council assured residents that government agencies would continue to assess the extent of damage and ensure that all affected persons receive the necessary humanitarian support.

The State Executive Council also called on residents to remain vigilant during the rainy season and cooperate with relevant authorities on safety measures aimed at reducing the risks associated with severe weather conditions.

Other resolution’s adopted include
upward review of the minimum pension payable to retirees under the State and Local Government Contributory Pension Scheme from Twelve Thousand Naira (₦12,000.00) to Twenty Thousand Naira (₦20,000.00) per month, with effect from 1st July, 2026.

As stated by Hon. Musa this approval was part of the Government’s sustained commitment to improving the welfare and living condition of retired public servants in the State, in recognition of their invaluable contributions to the growth and development of the State during their years of active service.

For the implementation of the revised minimum pension the Council has also approved Two Billion, Sixty-Eight Million, Six Hundred and Eight Thousand Naira (₦2,068,608,000.00) only for the additional annual expenditure to the State and Local Government Contributory Pension Scheme.

The Council decision was in line with His Excellency Malam Umar A. Namadi FCA resolve to promote the well-being of pensioners, ensure social protection for retirees, and uphold its commitment to responsible and people-centered governance.

Similarly the Council has approved the award of a contract for the completion of a solar-powered electrification of Birnin Kudu General Hospital, Ringim General Hospital, Kazaure Specialist Hospital, and Bulangu Cottage Hospital at a total contract sum of Two Billion, One Hundred and Thirty-Six Million, Sixty Thousand, Six Hundred and Nine Naira, Thirty-Eight Kobo (₦2,136,060,609.38) only.

The project is aimed at strengthening healthcare service delivery by providing a reliable and sustainable source of electricity to the selected health facilities.

The solar power systems projected when completed will ensure uninterrupted power supply for critical medical services, enhance the operational efficiency of the hospitals, and significantly reduce the recurrent costs associated with conventional energy sources, among other useful resolutions.
