Govt to begin perimeter fencing of FUTO

The issue of land encroachment by the host community of the Federal University of Technology, (FUTO), has received attention, as the Federal Government has agreed to construct a perimeter fencing at the institution.

The issue of land encroachment by the host community of the Federal University of Technology, (FUTO), has received attention, as the Federal Government has agreed to construct a perimeter fencing at the institution.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu while addressing members of the 10th Governing Council of the university.

The minister, who was represented by the minister of state Prof. Anthony Anwuka, disclosed that with government show of commitment, the issue of land encroachment would be eradicated.

According to the minister, government will also provide funds for the citing of more projects at the university to enhance teaching, research, learning and community service.

He urged the university community to remain peaceful in order to benefit from the projects.
The meeting was attended by the pro- chancellor/chairman of the council, Dr. Emmanuel Enemuo, the vice chancellor, Prof. Chigozie Cyril Asiabaka and other members of staff and some students of the institution.
