An advocacy group, Salvation and Service (SnS), has called on voters in Abia South Senatorial District to support Dr Michael Kasarachi Enyinna, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, in the 2027 senatorial election.
In a statement by its General Secretary, Prince Tim Nwaro, the group said its support for Enyinna was based on what it described as his involvement in youth empowerment, support for women and widows, healthcare interventions and other community initiatives.
Nwaro said the group believed Abia South needed representation capable of addressing the development needs of communities it said had not benefited sufficiently from previous administrations.
He said Enyinna’s experience in business and philanthropy, as well as his age, could bring a different perspective to the Senate.
According to the group, Enyinna had, through his foundation, supported initiatives targeting young people and vulnerable communities and had promoted access to education, healthcare, entrepreneurship and digital innovation.
The group said: “Kasarachi Michael Enyinna is like a breath of fresh air. He is fresh and young; he is not carrying any baggage.”
SnS argued that electing a younger representative could offer what it described as “distinct political, social and structural advantages”, particularly in shaping policies aimed at addressing the needs of future generations.
The group also cited Enyinna’s professional background, describing him as a capital market expert, investment banker and policymaker. It said it believed these experiences would be useful to him in the Senate if elected.
SnS therefore urged voters in Abia South to consider Enyinna’s candidacy, expressing confidence that he could contribute to the development of the district through effective legislative representation.
