Group Canvasses Support For Dogara To Become The New Speaker

A GROUP, Equity and Justice Forum has appealed to All Progressive Congress (APC) and members of the next National Assembly to accept Honorable Yakubu Dogara, representing Tafawa Balewa, Dass and Bogoro Federal Constituency, as new speaker of the House in the best interest of justice, progress and fairness.

The Chairman of the Forum Alhaji Samaila Mohammed Isa made the call yesterday while addressing a press conference at the NUJ secretariat, Bauchi.

He said Dogara has all the essential leadership qualities that a new speaker required and he have being tested and proven to be a man of high quality, honest and good behavior. Isa said, as an experience member who has served the House in various capacity as committee chairman for the last eight years, he deserves to be given opportunity to serve as the speaker of the House.

According to him, apart from the leadership qualities of Honorable Dogara, he came from the zone that gave the highest votes that led to the success of APC in the last general election.

“The zone was the third zone in times of votes and second votes in the northern Nigeria and Bauchi state where Dogara came from gave Buhari the highest votes in the zone hence there is a need to reciprocate the people”.

He then, called on APC, stakeholders and people to support Dogara in prayers to become the new speaker of the House.

He explained that the Forum has already started going round to meet with all elected members to sale Dogara, saying many are responding positively.
