Group commends Ribadu for ‘relative peace in north east’

A youth group in Gombe State, The Gombe Youth Discussion Circle, has commended what is described as “relative peace in the north east,” praising the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, for his efforts.

The group in a press release issued to The Guardian on Friday by its spokesperson, Ibrahim Usman, said that before the advent of the new national security adviser, who is from the north east, the zone had been facing resurfacing atrocities of the terrorists.

Usman said, “Nuhu Ribadu has demonstrated strong leadership, intelligence, and strategic thinking in the fight against insecurity.

“Our people in the north east have begun to experience peace after years of fear and destruction caused by Boko Haram.

“This is possible due to a practical, inclusive, and solution-focused approach introduced by the National Security Adviser, which has led to a decline in terrorist activities and restored hope in affected communities.”

Usman argued that, aside from Boko Haram, bandits’ activities have also decreased drastically compared to past years.

“On behalf of the Gombe Youth Discussion Circle, we proudly pass a vote of confidence on Malam Nuhu Ribadu. His achievements within a short period show that Nigeria is moving in the right direction in terms of security under his watch,” he said.
