Anchor Heritage Initiative (AHI), in collaboration with Chess to School, has said it will continue to champion cognitive development of young ones in the country to discourage them from engaging in crimes.
Chief Executive Officer of AHI, Bidemi Oladipupo, said the organisation decided to use Chess to discourage youths from engaging in social vices and to embrace chess as a life-changing mechanism that can broaden their horizons.
According to him, the group is discussing with Nigeria Correctional Service towards bringing the game to the institution as a way of contributing to the fight against crime by engaging youths to embrace the game, which will improve their memory, deepen their focus, and elevate their creativity.
A member of Chess to School, Adekunle Emmanuel, stated that the initiative will give students hope and opportunities to express themselves positively as Chess game is a behavioral science, which boosts the ability to see from another viewpoint the “theory of mind.”
